β¨ A Personal Note β¨
Hey Reader - I hope this photo warms your heart to pieces because, in the Haynes household, our girls spent what I think is the most important grade of life - kindergarten. At home. During Covid.
This is them, in May 2020 after Scott and I wrapped up 6 months of homeschooling and teaching them to read, write, and all life skills you would think you would learn at this age. But a lot was missing. Because. Well. Pandemic. β And yes. They did school in their pajamas. Why not? β This was also the year (in January) that I decided to start a business, invested 10K in a business coach (still wasn't making any money), worked full time (now from home), and went all in. Whew, what a year. π€ͺ
It got me thinking this week, about the traditions we have with going back to school. Take a photo, think about your goals and what you want to be. Get a new outfit! (We are going shoe shopping today). β What if with the change of season, you get to do the same thing? You are an adult. You get to make the rules.π β Get a new outfit. Take a family photo. Write down where you want to be at the end of the year. (You should definitely do this!) β β Celebrate the change of season. Create your own back-to-school tradition. Even if you have graduated. β βwe get to make the traditions.π Traditions give us something to look forward to. Theyβre like β¦ the little tent poles that hold up life. β Traditions mark time, keep us moving forward, and give us a reason to celebrate the little things (and big things), like going back to school.
These days, my favorite traditions are β¦.
Of course back to school shopping. I honestly just love the backseat conversation with the girls in the car. They are getting so old. β Planning our next trip. Our tradition is 1 trip a quarter. β Hearing weekly wins of our mastermind students every month.β ββ βMaking a bucket list for the season. We used to just do it for summer, but now we do it for every season which has been so fun. β βSo, I have to know β what is one of your favorite traditions right now? Reply and share! I would love to hear from you.
